In 2004, Kees and Marjo Wijnen traded their life in the Netherlands for a more adventurous existence in the South of France. In the Aveyron, they started a Chambres d’Hotes (bed and breakfast) and a mini campsite. It turned into a magnificent adventure, much like the reality shows "I'm Leaving" or B&B Full of Love. The French culture, arguments with the neighbors, adventures with guests, a clash with the tax authorities, the sometimes peculiar French customs and habits, and an introduction to the French welfare state—everything is covered. After 15 years, they traded their business for a somewhat quieter life. They are now enjoying a well-deserved retirement, but old habits die hard (literally: "the blood crawls where it cannot go").
