Meanwhile, I tried to observe Rosa as discreetly as possible. She continued to fascinate me immensely. I couldn't get a handle on her age. She looked youthful, about twenty-five, but if you said she was thirty, I would believe it too. Juan seemed more like thirty-five.
Rosa did something to me, released something in me, I just didn't know what. I continued to look at her, obsessed, and was enchanted by her graceful movements, her beautiful little face, and those dimples in her cheeks when she laughed, that sing-song, hypnotizing voice, but there was something else, something I couldn't put my finger on!
Normally, I don't believe in spiritual things at all, such as auras, chakras, and other energy fields or esoteric currents. But now I was in doubt; there was something between the two of us, a kind of magnetic field. Our auras, if they even existed, were in contact. I felt a beneficial exchange of energy between the two of us that recharged me. At this moment, I wished I could see auras. I was convinced that ours were being drawn to each other, were linked, and were merging into each other like a whirlpool in an ocean.
"How long have you been here now?" Rosa suddenly asked me. I was startled out of my esoteric reveries, which now, like soap bubbles, burst one by one. She must have felt that I was observing and analyzing her. Her antennas had picked up my energy.
"Uh, this is our first season," I stammered, "we've already had some Dutch and French guests. You are our first Spanish guests. And what do you do in your daily life, if I may ask?" I asked to quickly divert the attention from me.
"I'm a model, lots of lingerie and swimwear, also a lot of nude photography, not porn, though, I don't do that," she giggled. "Juan doesn't want me to, either. I was on the cover and in the centerfold of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit a few times."
"Wow, that's not bad. You have a fantastic body, Rosa."
"Oh, thank you, and what did you do before you came here?"
"I worked in a hospital in the emergency room department, and besides that, I sometimes did some freelance modeling, mainly for fashion and women's magazines, especially when they needed a slender, classic Dutch blonde again."
"See? I knew it," Rosa said enthusiastically, "I thought, such a beautiful woman must have been in front of the camera." I started to blush. "Do you hear that, Juan, Irene used to be a model."
"That doesn't surprise me at all, with a body and charisma like that."
I started to blush even more.

'A little pill from Rosa'?

"Here is a privileged person who was allowed to read the story before its publication. I can highly recommend this second book to everyone. It is another typical Kees Wijnen story with surprising situations and an ending that screams for a sequel."

"I hope this story about Irene and Didier is mostly fiction and largely the product of Kees's imagination. This book is truly a feast to enjoy. It is erotic in places, violent, heartwarming, and thankfully not as sadistic as 'The Valley of Murder ' occasionally was. Kees is a jack of all trades!"

"Just like the first book, 'The Valley ofMurder ', I read this one in one sitting as well! I couldn't put it down. What a story. Quite erotic too... An absolute must-read! Already eagerly awaiting book three??"

Peter Jan

"Yesterday, I read the book 'A Pill from Rosa' (like 'The Murder Valley') in one sitting! Beautifully written... and yes, the train of thought within the Chambres d'hôtes (guesthouse/B&B)... recognizable to many!

So lovely to read!"

"Enjoyable and regularly surprising, especially several developments at the end. The first 30 pages were a bit stiff for me, as if the writer still had to get started. I felt there were too many adjectives, which slowed the pace of the story for me. At the same time, in that section, the history of 'The Murder Valley'—the prequel to 'Pilletje' [A Pill]—was casually described in a good way. Useful and pleasant.

After those 30 pages, the writer's diesel engine was apparently warmed up, and it read smoothly. The writer is at his strongest, in my opinion, when he writes from the heart, as in action scenes. That flows and holds the attention.

Highly recommended, also as a semi-textbook for potential B&B owners...."
